Ariston Boiler Pressure Relief Valve 61312668 Replacement Part
This Ariston pressure relief valve (PRV) 61312668 releases excess system pressure to protect your boiler. Over time, the valve seat can wear or debris can stop it sealing, which may cause dripping from the discharge pipe and repeated pressure loss or frequent topping up. Replacing the correct PRV restores safe pressure control, helps prevent lockouts, and reduces the risk of recurring shutdowns.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. What does a pressure relief valve (PRV) do in an Ariston boiler?
It releases water if system pressure gets too high, protecting the boiler and pipework.
2. How do I know if the PRV is leaking?
Common signs are dripping from the copper discharge pipe outside, pressure dropping, and frequent re-pressurising.
3. Will a leaking PRV cause low pressure and lockouts?
Yes. If it doesn’t reseal properly, pressure can keep falling and the boiler may lock out.
4. Can I just clean the PRV instead of replacing it?
Sometimes debris is the cause, but if the seat is worn it will still leak—replacement is the reliable fix.
5. Do I need an engineer to fit a PRV?
It’s a safety component and involves draining/refilling the system using a qualified heating engineer is recommended.
